Book Journal w/ Vintage Ribbon

This is another project I have been thinking about for a while and it's finally coming to fruition. Album is made from paperbags and so far I have only created the covered. I have had some ribbon from my grandma's collection (it's probably 30+ years old) in my craft closet for some time and this is the first time I have found a good use for it. I plan to list my favorite authors and books I've read over the years and my wish list of books I want to read someday. People always ask me what I would recommend and I can never remember everything I've read. Thanks for looking!

Inspired by the Sunshine

We have had almost 2 weeks of beautiful weather. This has inspired me to do more of everything I love; reading on the deck, making cards, scrapbooking, running, yoga, drinking coffee, watching birds, etc. I also have managed to do more shopping - there are so many good deals out there right now. Some websites you might want to check out are jjill.com, athleta.com, bananarepublic.com, lucy.com and of course, ebay.com. I bought some great Born boots for 1/2 price at J Jill and Athleta has some Frye Harness boots on sale too.

Getting ready to celebrate the 4th of July with family this weekend. My husband's grandma is turning 90 on the 5th. Wow - she is amazing. Still loves David Letterman.

On a sad note, my sister's father-in-law passed away over the weekend from stomach cancer that he was diagnosed with just over 3 months ago. This is a reminder to us that we need to live life to the fullest.

This is the sympathy card I sent to the family. I used a Martha Stewart rubber stamp, scraps and the corrugated cardboard is leftover packaging from something I received in the mail recently. I am trying to find fun ways to reuse items - adds an extra challenge to crafting and also ensures one of kind work.
Have a great day!
